It’s time we came back to the Precedent
And stop comparing everything to the right & left.
We say, “I’m not as bad as them,”
And find our responses quick to condemn.
“Comparing ourselves among ourselves” has sent us far from wise –
And spiraling towards careless in an awful disguise.

It’s time we look not to the world but the Word
And admit that a desensitization has occurred.
We think we are righteously clothed,
But maybe the truth is that we to the world are betrothed.
We forget to compare our lives to God’s direction
And have found ourselves with Divine disconnection.

The world should not be the standard to which we measure
Because we are to be seeking an eternal treasure.
God should be the Precedent not the Afterthought –
His protecting principles are to be honored, not be fought.
The Word versus Everything. . . That’s how it should be said.
A Plan to guide and follow, not to just be read.
